Design FTK
Project Overview
Design FTK — For The Kingdom — is a faith-based creative brand I built from the ground up to share original graphic designs that glorify God through art and apparel. What started as a personal challenge to grow my design skills quickly evolved into something larger: a recognizable brand with a real audience, a clothing line, and recognition from within the Christian creative community. Every piece of work created under Design FTK was driven by a clear purpose — to combine creativity with faith and share that with others.
The Problem
I wanted a creative outlet that was both personally meaningful and professionally challenging. The goal wasn't just to make art — it was to build something consistent and credible enough to resonate with an audience, translate across platforms, and eventually scale into a product. That meant developing a full brand identity from scratch, with no team, no budget, and no roadmap.
My Role
As the sole creator behind Design FTK, I owned every aspect of the brand:
• Built and maintained a cohesive visual identity across all platforms
• Managed social media strategy, content planning, and audience engagement
• Transitioned the brand from a design page into a functioning e-commerce clothing brand
• Handled all product design, including apparel mockups and print-ready files
• Tools: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator

Process
1. Developing the Brand Identity I established a clear visual direction rooted in modernism, bold typography, and intentional messaging. Every design decision — from color to composition — was made with consistency and purpose in mind, ensuring the brand felt cohesive whether seen on a phone screen or a shirt.
2. Design & Content Creation All graphics were created in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I focused on producing work that could function as standalone digital art while also translating cleanly onto physical apparel. Maintaining that dual functionality shaped how I approached every design.
3. Growing the Audience Through consistent posting and sharing of original work, the brand grew organically — reaching tens of thousands of people across social media without paid promotion. Audience engagement and shares drove the majority of that growth.
4. Scaling to Apparel As demand grew, I began receiving direct inquiries from people wanting to purchase my designs. I used that signal to launch a clothing line under Design FTK, turning audience interest into a real product offering and managing the full e-commerce process independently.

Key Takeaways
Design FTK taught me how to think about design beyond the screen. Managing every part of the brand — creative direction, audience growth, product development — pushed me to approach problems with both a designer's eye and a strategic mindset. It reinforced that strong design isn't just about how something looks; it's about how it connects, communicates, and scales.
